BERKELEY, Calif. (BCN) — Berkeley householders could apply for as much as $3,000 in earthquake seismic retrofit grants from the town.
Berkeley officers remind householders that seismic retrofits might help stop properties from sliding and collapsing throughout an earthquake. Earnings-qualified households can get reimbursed for the total value of a seismic improve to their residence, whereas others can qualify for as much as $3,000 for making their foundations extra resilient to earthquakes.
To qualify for a lottery to get these refunds, Berkeley householders could join the state’s Earthquake Brace + Bolt rebate program by Nov. 29. These households with annual incomes beneath $72,080 can qualify for as much as 100% of the seismic retrofit value.
