Man pleads not responsible to deadly DUI crash that killed bicyclist in Carlsbad

A person accused of crashing his bike right into a bicyclist, fatally inuring him, whereas main a California State Parks officer on a pursuit pleaded not responsible Tuesday to gross vehicular manslaughter whereas intoxicated and different fees.

Eric Monte Burns, 29, is accused within the Aug. 15 crash that killed Brad Allen Catcott, 68, of Solana Seaside. Burns and his passenger, a 22-year-old girl, suffered critical accidents within the crash.

Carlsbad police stated the afternoon chase started when a state parks officer tried to cease a motorcyclist on suspicion of rushing and reckless driving. The motorcyclist headed north on Carlsbad Boulevard and crashed into Catcott, killing him on the scene.

Along with gross vehicular manslaughter whereas intoxicated, Burns was charged in San Diego Superior Courtroom with evading an officer inflicting critical bodily harm, DUI inflicting harm and allegations of inflicting nice bodily harm to each Catcott and his passenger.

County jail data present Burns was being held in county jail with out bail after Tuesday’s arraignment in Vista Superior Courtroom.
